IRCC News Updates
- IRCC Reduces Staffing in India: On October 19, 2023, IRCC announced a reduction in its staff in India from 27 to 5. This action follows India’s decision to remove immunities for most Canadian diplomats in Delhi. While IRCC will continue to process applications from India, the reduced staffing levels are expected to impact processing times, including delays in overall timelines, responses to inquiries, and the return of visas or passports. - CAN Work Philippines Pilot Program Announced: On October 19, 2023, Minister Marc Miller announced the CAN Work Philippines pilot program, designed to expedite work permit processing for Canadian employers recruiting in the Philippines. Auditor General’s Report

Program Delivery Updates
- Citizenship Instrument of Delegation: On October 18, 2023, IRCC announced an administrative update to the Instrument of Designation and Delegation (IDD) as well as the Citizenship Instrument of Delegation, effective October 16, 2023.
